In 1996, we published a review of Data Acquisition and Analysis Software Tools. This article attempts to introduce the latest developments in visual programming software. Visual programming is a type of programming environment in which the entire software program, including the user interface, is created by creating and connecting icons rather than traditional textual programming. The icon represents the function and is connected with “wire”. The wire passes the data of one function to the next function. The visual code is a text file of icon wiring instead of sequential instructions.
