Today is no different from usual. Early in the morning, I worked hard through thick bushes and climbed steep hills. From time to time, I stopped looking carefully around and listening to the slightest rustle. It’s already five in the afternoon, and I did not even meet a chimpanzee. In another two hours, with the advent of darkness, the darkness will cover the Gombe Sanctuary. While there is still a glimmer of light, I will go to my specially selected point of observation - stay there, looking forward to perhaps before the onset of the night to see how chimpanzees nesting.
