前言我国膨胀土分布很广,现已发现全国有二十多个省(区)、数百个县市存在这种土。膨胀土的工程性质很坏:遇水剧烈膨胀,失水剧烈收缩,膨胀受阻产生膨胀压力,膨胀后强度大大降低,收缩后可能产生大量裂缝,因而使建筑工程以及铁道、公路、机场、渠道等工程都遭到大量严重破坏。土坝工程又具有不同于其他工程的不利条件:经常受水浸泡,只有自重压力而无附加压力,坝体为重塑土,而重塑膨胀土的工程性质又较天然土为差。因此,在国内开展膨胀土研究以来,就很自然地提出了用膨胀土能否筑坝以及如何筑坝的问题。
Foreword The expansive soil in China is widely distributed. It has been found that there are more than 20 provinces (regions) and hundreds of counties and cities in the country. The engineering properties of expansive soils are very bad: when the water expands rapidly, the water loss shrinks violently, the expansion is blocked and the expansion pressure is generated, the strength after the expansion is greatly reduced, and a large number of cracks may be generated after shrinkage, thus making construction projects and railways, highways, airports, and channels, etc. The project has suffered a lot of serious damage. The earth dam project also has disadvantages that are different from other projects: it is often immersed in water, and only the pressure of its own weight and no additional pressure, the dam is a remolded soil, and the engineering properties of the remolded expansive soil are worse than the natural soil. Therefore, since the development of expansive soils in China, it has naturally been proposed whether or not the use of expansive soils can build dams and how to build dams.
