Based on the analysis of the problems in theRTVU educational research, such as those in subjectivity, empiricism, lack of guiding theories,monotony in tone, lack of clarity in subject matter,and lagging--behind of research methodology, thepaper Proposes that RTVU educational researchmust make clear the special subjects and approaches of the research. Further trial and practice andtheoretical exploration should lead to setting upproper categorical systems and subsystems, strengthening the application of theories to practice, raisingthe standard at both quality and quantity level. It isalso suggested that there need to be a completechange from monotony in tone to fully initiativecreativity. The RTVU staff needs also to be welltrained and organized in order to build up a distance learning mode with Chinese characteristics.
