载脂蛋白(简称apo)E apoB100是血浆脂蛋白的主要成分,它们参与低密度脂蛋白受体的识别,并通过与受体的相互作用,转运胆固醇和其脂质,在脂质代谢中有重要作用。作者用ABC技术,对5例人大脑额叶组织的apoE及apoB100作了免疫组化研究。发现人脑的部分神经元(主要是大、小锥体细胞)及星形胶质细胞呈apoE免疫反应,而未见apoB100的阳性反应细胞。作者还对100例正常人脑脊液的apo进行了检测,测得apoE的含量为0.68±0.12mg/dl,但不含apoB100,从而进一步证实,人脑组织能合成apoE,不能合成apoB100。由于人脑组织不含apoB100,因此,作者设想apoE可以能代替apoB100,在脑与脑脊的胆固醇和其它脂质的运输中起主要作用。
