八十年代以来,由于多数年份的冬小麦产量较高,加之农民在实行生产责任制之后耕畜上又有一定的困难,为图省事,冬小麦面积逐年扩大,不少地方的冬小麦面积占到了粮食作物面积的70％以上,个别村庄或农户甚至达到了百分之八九十甚至百分之百。这种现象虽经当地党政、农技部门反复纠正,但至今冬小麦种植面积偏大的问题仍未得到根本转交。由于麦田面积过大,连作(老茬)小麦的面积也就随之增多,而老茬麦的增多又导致田间杂草丛
