Elimination of collapsibility of collapsible loess foundation with large thickness, reduction of compressive deformation and improvement of bearing capacity are two technical problems that the engineering community has been seeking to solve for many years. Deep hole dynamic compaction is one of the effective ways to deal with large thickness collapsible loess foundation. Satisfactory results have been obtained in the treatment of large-thickness collapsible loess foundation such as the large-scale cooling tower of State Key Project Baoji No. 2 Power Plant (Phase I installed capacity of 4 × 300MW)
