Our government has been exploring and practicing the purchase of public services for about 20 years, and social work service is an important part of public service. This article studies the current dilemma and development countermeasure of purchasing social work service from the government in the underdeveloped areas of our country from three parts. Taking Inner Mongolia as an example, this paper puts forward the real predicament that the government in underdeveloped areas purchase social work service. According to the question raised, the government in undeveloped areas should pay more attention to cultivate social workers and maintain the independence of social organizations in the purchase of social work services in the underdeveloped areas; innovate the service areas of social workers and expand the scope of purchasing services; increase government fiscal expenditure and broaden the path of government support;
