Biosensors are a fast-growing field,as they have been shown to be very helpful in our daily life, playing roles in industries such as agriculture, food safety, homeland security,bioprocessing,envi-ronmental monitoring, and industrial monitoring.Beyond these, the application of biosensing in medicine and biomedical engineer-ing may have the highest potential for growth and for affecting human quality of life in the near future. This potential is driven by the need for new and improved devices and technologies with improved sensitivity, specificity, reliability, and biocompatibility, which can solve and manage medical and health problems such as heart diseases, cancer,or diabetes, among others[1].For exam-ple,since tumors present a unique microenvironment,an implan-table biosensor near a tumor would allow precise monitoring of the disease\'s progression. The first biosensor reported for use in vivo was based on magnetic nanoparticles and was used to detect soluble cancer biomarkers in mice[2].Since then, the research field of implantable biosensors has become a hot topic in the scientific community[3].
