眼前的韩兆忠很瘦,看上去是个弱不禁风的高个子老头。这个外形跟运动似乎是两个世界的人,竟然是长跑健将。今年65岁的他,“1992年省直运动会1500米破记录获金牌;2006年全国老将运动会800米金牌;2004-2007年底共完成13个全程马拉松;2006年获国家田径锻炼之星。”作为济南奥运火炬传递的第44棒火炬手,韩兆忠的步伐英姿飒爽,很难让人相信他已经65岁了。作为泉城长跑队的队长,韩兆忠在今年的4月份发起了“迎奥运,跑向北京”的活动,600公里的路程,他们用脚步一一丈量。31名队员在韩兆忠的带领下,用长跑宣传奥运的方式,途经山东、河北、天津,历时10天最终到达北京奥组委总部,以此表达泉城儿女对北京奥运会的衷心祝福。年龄,并不能衡量生命的质量;而生命,从未都是因为激情而年轻。这位65岁的老人,以一颗赤子之心,点燃了全民健身的热潮。
