顾廷龙同志溘然去世,是我国图书馆事业、古籍版本目录事业的一大损失,全国人士都为之伤痛。他学问深湛,涉及面广,在图书馆工作、版本目录工作之外,书法是举世闻名的。他又精研古文字学,对金文、匋文、石鼓文皆有探索,匋文更是举世无二。他编写年谱,著过《吴大徵(字清卿,号愙斋)年谱》,是他在燕京大学研究所的毕业论文。顾老对于《古文尚书》也是唯一的研究专家。他的太老师姚志梁在清末任驻日公使时在日本得到《古文尚书》,是失传已久的中国古籍,带回后藏在南翔家中,顾老于访
When Gu Tinglong passed away, it is a great loss in the cause of the library and the catalog of ancient books in our country. All the people in the country are hurt. His profound knowledge, involving a wide range of work in the library, version directory work, calligraphy is world-famous. He also delved into ancient philology and explored Jin Wen, Shu Wen, and Shi Gu Wen. He wrote the Chronicle and wrote The Chronicle of Wu Da-zheng (Zi Qing Qing, Zhaoshai Zhai), which is his dissertation on the Institute of Yanjing University.
