Objective To investigate the necessity and effectiveness of lipid level management in the management of Parkinson’s disease in the elderly. Methods One hundred and seventy-four elderly patients with Parkinson’s disease admitted to our hospital from January 2013 to January 2014 were enrolled in this study. Blood lipids were measured and the levels of serum lipids were compared between mild and severe groups. There were 72 patients in the intervention group and the conventional group, All were given drugs, rehabilitation training, the former also given strict blood lipid management, compared to related indicators. Results The levels of TC, LDL-C and TG in the mild group were lower than those in the severe group and HDL-C was higher than those in the severe group (P <0.05). After 6 months, the ADL in the intervention group was higher than that before treatment and in the same period Group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The severity of Parkinson’s disease in elderly patients is related to the level of serum lipids. The management of blood lipids helps to improve the daily living ability of the patients, which is of great significance for alleviating the burden of family care.
