OTC derivatives market regulatory reform is an important part of global regulatory changes after the financial crisis. Financial Stability Council and other international organizations have issued a series of rules and guidelines and international standards, countries have also introduced the relevant regulatory laws and regulations. This article reviews the recent reform process in the global OTC derivatives market, assesses the relative impact of the extraterritorial jurisdiction over financial regulation in Europe and the United States, and explores the positive role that industry self-regulation organizations can play.
