西北大学图书馆古籍部主任袁卿武先生,最近在《西北大学学报》1994年第4期上发表一篇题为《新发现的曹雪芹诗词抄本》(以下简称《新发现》)的长文,声言他“发现了《红楼梦》传世以来第一个完整的曹雪芹诗词抄本”.尤其令人瞩目的是,作者称“发现了8首曹雪芹佚诗”,指出其中两首还是署了曹雪芹名字的“佚诗”,此外还有多首“未署名”的曹雪芹所作“诗词曲”.对于这一具有新闻效应的“发现”,被某些人誉为“不亚于原子弹对广岛、长崎的影响”.更甚者,一些有头有脸的电台、报纸,还有街头巷尾地摊上的小报,匆忙舍出篇幅加以报导和“摘要”转载,竟说什么“袁卿武一举震动红学界”.
Mr. Yuan Qingwu, Director of the Department of Ancient Books, Northwestern University Library, recently published a long article entitled “Newly Discovered Cao Xueqin’s Copies of Poems” (hereinafter referred to as “New Discovery”) published in Journal of Northwest University, No. 4, 1994, Claiming that he “discovered the first complete copy of Cao Xueqin’s poems since the reincarnation of the Dream of Red Mansions.” Of particular note is the author’s “discovery of eight anonymous poems by Cao Xueqin,” stating that two of them were still signed by Cao Xueqin as “ Anonymous Poems, ”along with a number of“ poems and songs ”by Cao Xueqin, an“ unsigned ”journalist, was“ praised ”by some as“ no less than the impact of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki What’s more, some influential radio stations and newspapers, as well as tabloids on the streets, rushed out of space to make reports and reprinted the Abstracts, actually saying that ”Yuan Qingwu shook the red academia."
