在全国大学生“二十一世纪杯”英语演讲比赛中,刘欣(南京大学)、徐翌成(北京外国语大学)、余心哲(北京外交学院)和姚欣(北京大学)同学分获前四名,并得到世界英语联合会(English SpeakingUnion)的邀请,干5月12日—23日前往英国参加世界学生英语演讲比赛。刘欣荣获比赛第一名。回国后,四位同学干5月30日在北京外交学院举行了一场汇报会。现将刘欣在英国获奖的演说及其他三位同学的汇报发言(本刊略有删节)刊登如下,以飨读者。
Liu Xin (Nanjing University), Xu Yicheng (Beijing Foreign Studies University), Yu Xinzhe (Beijing Foreign Affairs University) and Yao Xin (Peking University) classmates in the National College Students “21st Century Cup ” speech contest Four, and by the World English Federation (English SpeakingUnion)’s invitation, May 12-May 23 to the United Kingdom to participate in the World Student English speech contest. Liu Xin won first place in the competition. After returning home, the four students held a briefing on May 30 at the Beijing Foreign Studies University. Presentations on Liu Xin’s award-winning speech in the UK and other three students (published in a slightly abridged version) are published below to readers.
