每个民族都有植根于自己土壤的独特文化,然而文化的这种差异对翻译造成的影响可谓举足轻重。因此,作为一名合格的翻译工作者,不仅要精通源语(Source language)和目的语(Target language)两种语言,同时还要熟悉这两种语言所承载的文化内涵。在本篇论文中,笔者将探讨文化和翻译之间的关系,并着重从以下六个方面介绍文化对翻译产生的影响:地理环境,宗教信仰,思维模式,风俗习惯,文化心理以及文化空白。
Each nation has its own unique culture rooted in its own soil, yet the impact of this difference in culture on translation can be of importance. Therefore, being a qualified translator should not only be proficient in both Source language and Target language, but also be familiar with the cultural connotations of both languages. In this essay, I will explore the relationship between culture and translation. I will introduce the impact of culture on translation from the following six aspects: geographical environment, religious beliefs, modes of thinking, customs, cultural psychology and cultural gaps.
