几年前听说浙江工商大学出版社正在组织翻译《狄更斯全集》,兴奋之余又担心,一家相对年轻的出版社要完成这项规模巨大的工程,谈何容易!现在《狄更斯全集》很快就要定稿,我的疑虑终于冰释了。在此表示热烈庆贺之际,心里也很难过。主编宋兆霖先生不幸于今年6月病逝,未能见到凝结了他无数心血的整套图书面世,这是最大的遗憾。《狄更斯全集》的出版满足了国内学界、读书界的需要,也为宋先生充实的一生画上了完美的句号。
A few years ago I heard that Zhejiang Gongshang University Press was organizing the translation of The Complete Works of Charles Dickens. I was also excited about the excitement that a relatively young publishing house would have to complete this huge project. Now that the Complete Collection of Charles Dickens will soon Finalized, my doubts finally released. In this warm occasion to celebrate, the heart is also very sad. Mr. Song Zhaolin, the editor-in-chief, unfortunately, died of illness in June this year. He failed to see the whole set of books that had uncounted numerous of his efforts. This is the greatest regret. The publication of The Complete Works of Dickens fulfills the needs of the domestic academic circles and the book-reading circles, and also ends up a perfect ending for Mr. Song’s fulfilling life.
