1492年,哥伦布第一次踏上美洲,当地的印第安人同他们交换的货物里面有一种金黄色的叶子,散发出淡淡的芳香,那就是烟草。当地人教会了这些远道而来的客人吸烟。谁也不曾料到,这种金黄色的叶子最终会走遍世界,并拥有上亿的追随者。烟草因其颜色和它巨大的经济价值被人们称为“金色产业”。烟草行业是为国家纳税最多的行业,它带来的巨大经济效益和对人类健康的影响一直是社会和科学家们争论的焦点。
In 1492, Columbus set foot on the Americas for the first time. The native Indian exchanged goods with golden leaves and a faint fragrance of tobacco. The locals taught these guests from afar to smoke. No one ever expected that this golden-yellow leaf will eventually travel the world and have hundreds of millions of followers. Tobacco is called “Golden Industry” because of its color and its enormous economic value. The tobacco industry is the country that pays the most taxes. Its enormous economic benefits and its impact on human health have always been the focus of controversy among society and scientists.
