The WTO Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (WTO / TBT Agreement) seeks to ensure that laws, standards, testing and certification procedures between countries are not unnecessarily impeding trade and encourage countries to adopt “international standards.” At present, more than 140 countries have accepted the requirements of this agreement. The World Trade Organization sets forth an interpretation of “International Standard ” in the section of Agreement G / TBT / 1 / REV.8 Section IX. ASTM Procedural Regulations (“Regulations”) set out the procedures and requirements for the operation of technical committees, including the organization of the committee,
