Although the serum concentration of β_2-microglobulin (β_2-MG) in patients with impaired renal function is clearly elevated, there are few reports on the relationship between β_2-MG treatment and histological changes in the kidney. Suxuki et al. Describe the relationship between renal β_2-MG immunohistopathology and renal or renal dysfunction in patients with kidney disease. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 119 patients with nephrotic disease, aged 9 to 72 years, were diagnosed with various renal diseases by light microscopy, electron microscopy and immunofluorescence. Immunofluorescence was used to examine whether there was deposition of β_2-MG in the kidneys, and in order to clarify the exact part of β_2-MG deposition
