A total of 446 patients with chronic pelvic in-flammatory disease presenting 2 types(damp-heatstasis and stagnation of energy caused by cold evilclassified according to TCM diagnosis)were treatedwith Fu Yan Kang Nos.Ⅰ and Ⅱ,which are com-posed of Chinese medical herbs.These multifunc-tioning prescriptions promoted blood circulation toremove blood stasis,relieved pain,eliminated solidmasses and dispersed and cleared away such patho-genie factors as heat and toxic materials.The totaleffective rate was 94.9%.In order to investigatethe mechanism of action the effects of Fu Yan Kangon inflammation,microcirculation,and the immuno-
