宗教自由法律保障的基本原则,是指导如何保护宗教自由实现的基础性原理,具有本源的综合性和稳定性,是贯彻宗教立法、执法和司法活动始终,具有根本性指导意义的原则性规范。它不仅对于促使法律保障宗教自由的实现具有非常重要的意义,而且对于实现信仰追求、道德约束和人文关怀的有机统一,避免直接对立的社会矛盾,尽量降低和缓解社会风险和运行成本也有不可忽视的理论与实践价值。
