《斗虫》,这幅画面第一感觉,充满了天真无邪、烂漫顽皮的幼童稚趣,圆形画心使画面更具生动活泼之感。近景的风景石,稳稳地压在画面上,与天真活泼的顽童产生对比,使画面既有生动活泼的氛围又具有沉稳厚重之感,透过前面的风景石观望远处的顽童,这一静一动的对比显得顽童更加俏皮。画面整洁无一杂物,体现出单纯、净洁、天真、无染的境界,多么令人向往呀,实在不忍破坏这种环境。可惜小孩的眼神似乎看到家长在叫他,打扰了他的情致,不太高兴。其实人生就是这样,生活在如意与不如意之间,此幅画表达了人生的一种生活状态。
