当前中国社会思想史在社会学学科体系中处于边陲位置,缺乏配套内容、学时偏少、专业力量薄弱、人才培养不足等问题是这一现实困境的具体原因。不过,由于中国社会思想史寻绎辨认、注疏解读的方法或写法,未能有效呈现出社会思想的独特自性,也未能有效提升其在社会学中的学科合法性,所以学理困境是导致其边陲化的根本原因。因此,中国社会思想史只有突破了学理困境,才能摆脱现实困境,即通过研究方法推陈出新,确立呈现中国社会思想的恰切写法,通过恰切写法凸显理论关怀,生成中国社会思想史的学术自性,通过学术自性凸显社会学品格,确立中国社会思想史的学科合法性。
