Citrus canker disease, a bacterial disease that has been abolished for nearly 60 years in Florida, is now reappearing, causing severe losses to several citrus nurseries. Since the first discovery of yellow-green spots on seedlings in Aron Park nurseries in August 1984, nine nurseries in Florida have been found to have ulcer disease, which eventually led to the loss of virulent seedlings.
