In the digital telephony arena, the functional integration of mobile devices is making rapid progress. Two obvious examples are the Internet-enabled products recently introduced by Sprint PCS. The Sprint PCS TP3000 (retail price plus monthly service charge totaling $ 400) is a combination of a single-frequency cell phone / PDA with personal information management (PIM) capabilities that are compatible with Microsoft Outlook. The other is the dual-band phone Sprint PCSPhone SamsungUproar (retail price plus monthly service fee totaling $ 400), which integrates an MP3 player that allows you to carry your favorite songs.
