A theoretical calculation combined with experimental measurements was proposed to determine the optimal thickness (dopt) for Mossbauer spectra. In the Mössbauer spectroscopy, the signal-to-noise ratio (Q) can be expressed as an analytic value with a maximum value corresponding to the optimum thickness dopt of the sample as a function of the thickness of the experimental sample.
