日本落叶松(Carix kaempferi sargent)是松科落叶松属的落叶针叶树。具有寿命长、生长快、材质好、树干通直高大、树形美观、适应性强等特点,是绿化荒中的优良树种。1972年中日建交后,为了增进两国人民的友谊,日本国赠送给我国一批日本落叶松幼苗。敬爱的周总理曾亲自批准在西安栽培。其中80株定植在长安县南五台塔寺沟。1973年日本赠送给我国的日本落叶松种子,于当年7月中旬播种,经精心培育,获苗123株。1976年定植,成活率高达97.6％。1976年西安市友好代表团访日时,奈良
