弗洛伊德的精神分析法认为,人类的人格结构由本我、自我、超我组成,它们分别受“快乐原则”、“现实原则”和“道德原则”控制。在《查泰莱夫人的情人》中,劳伦斯运用了大量的象征手法。通过精神分析和象征手法的应用分析,劳伦斯在小说中的本我是通过梅勒斯、自我是通过康妮、超我是通过克利福德分别体现出来的。而小说的三个主人公同时又分别受本我、自我、超我的心理制约。由此便形成了两个层面的结构,不仅彰显了三个主人公的心路历程,更象征了在工业文明大背景之下作者本人的内心挣扎。
Freud’s psychoanalysis holds that the human personality structure consists of the self, the ego and the super-ego, which are controlled by “happy principle”, “realistic principle” and “moral principle” respectively. In Mrs. Chatterley’s Lover, Lawrence uses a great deal of symbolism. Through the analysis of the application of psychoanalysis and symbolism, Lawrence in the novel through Meles, self through Connie and I through Clifford respectively. However, the three protagonists of the novel are also subject to the psychological constraints of self, self and super ego respectively. This will form a two-level structure, not only demonstrates the mentality of the three protagonists, but also symbolizes the background of the industrial civilization, the author’s own inner struggle.
