In 1620, a group of British Puritans could not tolerate religious persecution and took the “Mayflower” sailing to the Americas. Under the strain of fatigue, cold and disease, they boiled over the Atlantic for 65 days and finally reached Plymouth, a North American colony. During the winter, they encountered unimaginable difficulties. The Indians sent necessities to immigrants, generously giving them storage of wintering corn and potatoes, as well as the harvested pheasants and turkeys. Spring has come, Indians teach them how to hunt, fish and grow crops, raise turkeys. With the help of Indians, immigrants have achieved good harvests. White immigrants and Indians established a close friendship.
