前不久,教育部在北京召开了全国中学外语教育工作会议。会议总结了建国以来外语教育的历史经验,明确了中学外语课的地位和作用,研究了中学外语教育应该遵循的工作方针和需要采取的主要措施,这对于今后搞好中学外语教育有着重要的意义。下面仅就会议所涉及的几个主要问题谈一点看法。一、怎样认识中学外语的地位和作用建国以来,在相当长的时间内,中学外语没有受到应有的重视。有一种片面的看法,认为学外语就是为了做外语工作,搞其他工作学不学外语无关紧要,或者认为外语在需要时突击一下就成,不一定非要在中学里学不可。在这种片面看法的影响下,中学外语教育经历了一段曲折的发展道路。先是一度取消了初中外语课,高考不考外语或不正式记分,削弱了中学外语基础;五十年代末六十年代初曾经采取
Not long ago, the Ministry of Education convened a working conference on foreign language education in secondary schools in Beijing. The conference summed up the history of foreign language education since the founding of the PRC, clarified the status and role of foreign language courses in secondary schools, and studied the working guidelines and major measures to be followed in foreign language education in secondary schools, which is of great significance for the future accomplishment of foreign language education in secondary schools . Here are just some of the main issues involved in the meeting to talk about some ideas.
