选择莫育年、选择岭南湾畔,是因为他和他的产品都浸润着浓浓的岭南文化之魂。莫育年爱岭南文化,爱到骨子里,融入到血脉中。出生在广州,东莞籍的他小时候曾在家乡里住过别具岭南特色的旧屋,趟笼门、镬耳墙、冷巷在儿时就产生了记忆。长大后,莫育年喜岭南文化,喜到性情中,上升到责任里。换言之,学建筑出身的他希望将岭南优秀的传统文化在子孙后代生命中传承和发扬,他觉得自己有这个责任。可以说,岭南文化已经浸染了莫育年的灵魂,并深深地影响着他的建筑创作生涯。从2000年的岭南花园到岭南雅苑,再到从化逸泉山庄·粤园,以至现在的岭南湾畔,十年四盘,见证了他及越秀城建人对岭南传统建筑继承和发扬的探索历程。

From Lingnan Garden to Lingnan Garden in 2000, to Conghua Yizquan Villa and Yue Garden, and now to Lingnan Bay, it has witnessed the explorations of his and Yuexiu urbanites on the inheritance and development of traditional architecture in Lingnan .
