采用相干的连续波双频X波段雷达对乞沙比克海湾(the ChesapeakeBay)的微波海面回波进行了研究。结果表明,后向散射场的产物完全取决于海面波浪的特性。特别是当海面的频率或波长与两个发射信号间的拍频空间周期相一致,而它的矢量又与水平视线平行时,海面回波的褶积功率频谱呈现一条陡线。所以,借助该系统,即可测出重力波的色散关系。而且,长浪对短浪的调制度由褶积功率频谱的谱线密度给出。与单频多普勒频谱的褶积相关的宽带背景亦由褶积功率频谱示出。这些结果将用复合表面散射理论予以解释。
The coherent continuous-wave dual-frequency X-band radar was used to study the microwave sea surface echoes of the Chesapeake Bay. The results show that the backscattered field product depends entirely on the characteristics of the sea wave. In particular, when the frequency or wavelength of the sea surface coincides with the beat frequency space period between two transmitted signals and its vector is parallel to the horizontal line of sight, the convolution power spectrum of the sea surface echo shows a steep line. Therefore, with the help of this system, the dispersion relation of gravity waves can be measured. Moreover, the modulation of long waves on short waves is given by the line density of the convolution power spectrum. The broadband background associated with the convolution of the single frequency Doppler spectrum is also shown by the convolution power spectrum. These results will be explained by the theory of complex surface scattering.
