Service to the elderly is an important part of library work. Older people, as a group with certain obstacles, need to proactively provide special services. The United States, Britain and Japan have made many useful attempts to provide services to the elderly. The “information and delivery services” carried out by the United States, the “Memories Act” carried out by the British Library, the “reading aloud service” conducted by the Japanese Library, and the activities for the active participation of older persons all have accumulated valuable experience in service for the elderly.
