The new typist is green at her job. You cannot expect Mary to do business with such people. She is only eighteen and as green as grass.
In the process of senior high school English teaching, some students often encounter some problems because they do not understand the cultural differences between China and the West and are confused and overwhelmed by the learning process. What is even worse is that some students are used to thinking Chinese and make a lot of jokes about communicating with foreigners. Once, a classmate was reading an article in English, ran into such a sentence The new typist is green at her job. You can not expect Mary to do business with such people She is only eighteen and as green as grass. The classmate on these two puzzled, how can not think of a person and what is the relationship between green and green. Later I told him that there is a difference between the green in Chinese and the Chinese in green. In western countries, green can be used to mean inexperience, lack of training and shallow knowledge. Once again, a classmate encountered a very awkward situation during the exchange with foreign teachers.
