修饰语(modifiers)是句法中限定或修饰名词短语中或动词短语中的中心词的修饰成分,通常为句子的定语或状语。由于修饰语语所修饰的对象不同或其本身的意义不同等原因,有些句子会出现歧义。修饰语是导致歧义句的一个重要原因,具体情况有以下几种:
