娄师白,生于1918年,湖南省浏阳人。齐白石入室弟子。1942年毕业于北平辅仁大学美术系。现为北京画院画师,中国美术家协会会员。牡丹向来有富贵花之称,绶带鸟取其名中的谐音,寓“寿”之意。画中的题识“富而且寿”想必是画家创作此幅画作的主旨。虽是传统的具有象征意味的画作,但画家扎实的功底可见一斑。图中两朵开得正艳的硕大牡丹与一对蹲踞在巨石上的绶带鸟相顾盼,“大花”与“小鸟”形成对比,
