Chemical agents or mutagens may affect male reproduction by directly affecting testicular spermatogenesis. Many observations indicate that smoking is associated with the detrimental effects of sperm concentration, sperm motility, and normal morphology sperm ratios. The purpose of this study was to observe the possible abnormalities or degeneration of the ultrastructure of sperm axis filaments in large smokers and nonsmokers.
