A research group was organized for the Almont and Lewis low permeability sandstone reservoirs in Wamsutter Field, Southwest Wyoming. The team conducted a study of reservoirs in 1998 to address the issue of low production wells. Challenges faced by the research team include: (1) determining whether production wells have reached the highest level of output; (2) setting a baseline value to measure the success of various improvement measures; (3) identifying the major causes of low production; (4) using low-yielding problems with new technologies and processes ; ⑤ take measures to increase production, improve the net present value of production wells; ⑥ the completion of the process of recording the effect of various measures. At the beginning, using 90-day average production as a benchmark, the average production over the five-year period exceeded 100% of the baseline and the average production of production wells increased by more than 50%.
