近年来出现了很多种结构型式的助听器,无论哪一种对于改善传导性耳聋的听力困难都有极好的效果.但对于改善感觉性耳聋的听力困难其效果不甚理想,甚至有人认为感觉性聋耳不宜戴助听器.其实不然,感觉性耳聋有一种特殊听力现象,即重振.如果设计者针对重振聋耳听力特性来设计助听器的声学特性,感觉性聋耳就会有满意的助听器使用,而且技术上也能够实现.无论什么性质的耳聋,只要助听器的声学特性能够符合聋耳的听力特性就能起到改善聋耳听力困难的作用.
