From April 17 to April 19, 1995, the Xiangshan Scientific Conference “Facing the 21st Century's Basic Research Development Strategy in China” was held in Beijing. From the State Science and Technology Commission, State Education Commission, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Mines and other relevant departments and nearly 70 scientists attended the meeting.
