The total number of newspapers distributed in the province was 2.081 billion copies, with 9.112 million prints and 92 newspapers per 1,000 people. In 2008, the newspaper industry in the province published a total of 1.12 billion yuan of advertisements, an increase of 5% over the same period of the previous year, lower than the average of 7% of the national newspaper advertisements. For the advertising industry, the 2008 room
