应美国麻省艺术学院、哈沃德大学艺术学院和洛杉矶艺术设计学院的邀请,以常沙娜院长为团长、袁运甫教授为副团长、邱百平、王国伦、刘元风、鲁晓波、赵萌、张世川为团员,自1997年9月23日——10月4日赴美进行专业考察,先后参观了波士顿、纽约、华盛顿、洛杉矶4个城市的5所对口专业艺术院校(即波士顿的麻省艺术学院、哈佛大学建筑设计研究生院、波士顿博物馆艺术学校、华盛顿哈沃德大学艺术学院和洛杉矶艺术设计学院),以及11个艺术博物馆和15所著名的纪念场馆、中心等。此次出访以考察美国的艺术教育、艺术设计和工艺品开发为主要内容,达成了5项校际间的有关艺术设计的学术交流计划,并为建立两所校际关系提出初步意向。此次出访美国,访问团全体成员感到收获很大,回国后进行了认真总结。11月13日下午,《装饰》编辑部组织举办了赴美考察总结座谈会,邀请访问团全体成员参加。会上,大家各抒己见、畅所欲言,谈了此次访美的感受,提出许多建设性的设想和建议。以下是访问团成员的发言摘要。
At the invitation of the Massachusetts Institute of the Arts, the Art Institute of Haworth University of the Arts and the Los Angeles College of Art and Design, with Prof. Chang Shana as the head and Prof. Yuan Yunfu as the deputy head, Qiu Baiping, Wang Guolun, Liu Yuanfeng, Lu Xiaobo and Zhao Meng, Zhang Shichuan as a member, from September 23, 1997 - October 4, 1997 to the United States for a professional study tour, has visited Boston, New York, Washington, Los Angeles four counterparts in five professional art schools (Boston Massachusetts Institute of Arts, Harvard Graduate School of Architecture and Design, Boston Museum of Art, Washington College of Art at Harvard University, and Los Angeles College of Art and Design), as well as 11 art museums and 15 prestigious memorial venues and centers. The visit focused on the study of arts education, art design and handicrafts development in the United States, reached five inter-school academic exchange programs on art design and proposed preliminary plans for establishing two inter-school relations. During the visit to the United States, all the members of the delegation felt greatly rewarded for their serious review. On the afternoon of November 13, the editorial department of “Decoration” organized and held a symposium on the visit to the United States and invited all the members of the delegation to attend. At the meeting, everyone expressed their opinions and spoke freely about the feelings of the visit to the United States and put forward many constructive suggestions and suggestions.
