The spread of blood-borne pathogens in medicine and infections has increasingly drawn the attention of both doctors and patients. The most worrying hospital-transmitted pathogens are the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), while other types of pathogens, such as Hepatitis B virus (HBV), Hepatitis C virus (HCV), and the like, are more commonly transmitted during medical procedures. In the past, the incidence of pathogen transmission in radiology was very low, but with the expansion of the scope of interventional therapy in recent years, this issue has drawn attention. The possibility of an infection occurring through exposure to blood or contaminated material is present during interventional therapy, but the incidence is low and the probability of pathogen transmission is lower between practitioners. This article introduces the prevention of infection of blood-borne pathogens during interventional diagnosis and treatment.
