2001年1月7日,是震惊中外的皖南事变纪念日。为了追念在事变中殉难的数千名烈士,弘扬先烈们高尚无私的爱国奉献精神,解放军总政治部艺术局和北京新四军暨华东抗日根据地研究会,在解放军八一剧场隆重举行纪念皖南事变60周年活动,在京的300多名新四军老战士冒雪参加了这次活动。国务院原副总理、北京新四军研究会名誉会长张劲夫,原中顾委委员、昆明军区司令员、新四军研究会会长张铚秀,中央统战部常务副部长、新四军下一代刘延东,中国对外友好协会会长、陈毅元帅之子陈昊苏,解放军总政治部直工部政委田爱习,总政治部宣传部艺术局局长陆文虎等同志出席了纪念大会。会上,总政话剧团演出了大型音乐话剧《桃花谣》。
January 7, 2001 marks the commemoration of the Wannan Incident alarming at home and abroad. In memory of thousands of martyrs who died in the incident, they carried forward the noble and unselfish patriotic dedication of the martyrs, the Arts Bureau of the PLA General Political Department and the Beijing New Fourth Army and East China Anti-Japanese Base Camp, held a solemn commemoration of the incident in southern Anhui in the Theater of PLA 81 Anniversary activities, more than 300 veterans of the New Fourth Army in Beijing took part in the snow-rafting event. Former Vice Premier of the State Council, Zhang Jinfu, honorary president of the Beijing New Fourth Army Research Association, former member of the Central Advisory Commission, commander of the Kunming Military Region, Zhang Xiuxiu, president of the New Fourth Army Research Association, standing deputy minister of the Central United Front Work Department, Liu Yandong, the next generation of the New Fourth Army, and president of China Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Chen Haosu, the son of Chen Yi’s marshal, Tian Ai Xi, political commissar of the direct labor department of the PLA General Political Department and Lu Wenhu, director of the arts department of the Propaganda Department of the General Political Department, attended the commemorative meeting. At the meeting, the General Political Department Troupe performed a large musical drama “Peach Blossoms.”
