In recent years, friction clutches for air chambers have increasingly been applied to the main winch reels and reversing mechanisms of excavators. Such excavators as the Soviet Union З-259, З-302, З-501, З-401, З-758, З-251l, З-2510, З-5010, and З-10011 types are effectively applied to such clutches. The United States, West Germany, Britain and other countries also attach great importance to this new type of clutch. China’s W301 single bucket universal excavator now also uses this device. This is because this kind of air chamber friction clutch has the following advantages compared with the previous belt or cone friction clutch: 1. The work is stable and reliable, and the operation is sensitive; 2. It is not necessary to adjust it during use to give continuous life.
