The BAT value is an abbreviation for German “Biologischer Arbeitsstoff-Toler-anz-Wert”. It is defined as the maximum allowable amount of a chemical substance or its metabolites in a biological material exposed to occupational exposure or the deviation of some of the biochemical parameters caused by the substance from the normal reference value. BAT value and MAK value (maximum allowable concentration of harmful substances in the air of the workshop) is formulated and revised by the German Research Institute for the Safety of Chemical Substances in the Workplace. It is published once a year. The abstract of this article is the published data of occupational exposure to bio-tolerance value.
