知道陈德奎老师是因为著名画家陈如冬是他的弟子,认识陈如冬则是很久前的事了,好像是十多年前某一天共同在苏州天放楼画廊品茶,记忆犹新的是当时这位年轻画家拥有一双与众不同的迷人眼睛,淡淡忧郁却熠熠发光。就因为这双神奇的眼睛,今天,我们在他的任何一张画上都能清晰地找到代表陈如冬的符号,这不是奇迹,是吴门画派薪火相传的印迹。陈如冬是吴门画派的传灯之人,而他的老师陈德奎先生则是默默无闻的绿叶,现在学生功成名就了,老师自然该显山露水啦,笔者收藏的这柄成扇正是最好的例证。陈德奎先生9岁时水彩画《外白渡桥》就入选在意大利举办的“国际儿童画展”并获奖,他1950年毕业于上海行知艺术学校,1957年考入南京师范大学美术系学
It is a long time since I knew Chen Dekui because Chen Rudong, a famous painter, is a disciple. It is like a long time ago to recognize Chen Rudong. It seems that one day more than a dozen years ago, The painter has a pair of distinctive charming eyes, light but gloomy glittering. Because of these magical eyes, today we can clearly find the symbol that represents Chen Rudong on any one of his paintings. This is not a miracle. Chen Rudong is the lamp of Wu School, and his teacher, Mr. Chen Dekui, is an obscure green leaf. Now that his students have become famous, the teachers naturally dew here and there. At the age of 9, Mr. Chen Dekui’s watercolor “Waibaidu Bridge” was selected and awarded in “International Children’s Painting Exhibition” held in Italy. He graduated from Shanghai Xingzhi Art School in 1950 and was admitted to the Fine Arts Department of Nanjing Normal University in 1957
