电影是最富有表现力的艺术形式之一,对人们有着广泛的吸引力。但是对于不在同一文化体系下的人们,电影其中的内涵可能是难于理解的。因为电影及其名字都是某一文化体系下的产物,涉及该文化领域下的文学,历史,宗教,哲学,习俗,生活习惯和传说。因此,翻译电影名字时不做全面的考虑或采取直译的方法都会造成误解。作为两种基本的翻译方法,归化和异化翻译方法目前在电影片名翻译中都起着重要的所用。
Movies are one of the most expressive forms of art and have a wide range of appeal to people. But for people who are not in the same cultural system, the connotation of the movie may be difficult to understand. Because the film and its name are the products of a cultural system that involves literature, history, religion, philosophy, customs, habits and legends in that area of culture. Therefore, it is misleading to not translate the movie name into full consideration or adopt literal translation. As the two basic methods of translation, domestication and foreignization translation methods are currently playing an important role in the translation of movie titles.
