这里所提出来的实验方法在中学的最普通条件下,可以容易地生动地而又安全地表演。进行实验需要下列材料:氧化铁或二氧化锰、铝粉、镁条,盛有干砂土的大玻璃瓶、砂土在瓶里堆成堆状,高约玻璃瓶的一半。反应物的准确比例保证实验的效果,少量的反应物也保证实验的安全。根据按反应方程式的计算,预先称量反应物。例如,适当的是取0.01克分子的氧化铁和0.02克原子的铝。以这样多量的物质进行反应是足可令人信服和十分安全的。在课堂演示实验以前,教师首先示明盛在瓶中的反应物,然后再示明放在一块厚纸上的一小撮称好的粉末。在瓷研缽里把粉末仔细地混合并用研杵研碎。
